Sewing Collective

This social enterprise initiative is providing a great opportunity for social and economic inclusion in the Brighton & Hove area. We are operating as a co-operative and we have begun with six women who are advanced sewers and are up-skilling whilst creating beautiful items from waste fabric, so creating a sustainable model whilst providing some financial independence.

At the weekly sessions, the women are at various stages in their introduction to the city, from refugees to those who have been in the city for 25 years but previously not engaged in civic life, they are now coming together, supporting one another, and growing with confidence whilst improving their skills.
