On 7th March, 2020 Brighton Women’s Centre (BWC) will once again host the city’s largest annual International Women’s Day celebrations in partnership with Brighton Dome and Brighton Museums. With gender equality firmly on the agenda, this free and inclusive all-day event celebrates women’s achievements while raising vital funds for BWC.

This year’s theme is Women and the Climate Emergency. Join Green MP Caroline Lucas and our panel of experts and activists as they discuss how gender inequality leaves women more vulnerable to climate change and how women are leading the way to tackle the crisis.

There will be plenty of environment-themed activities, including a Green Magic show, Brighton Science Festival’s Ice Cream Melting Challenge, talks on sustainable fashion and eco-anxiety plus recreating Hokusai’s ‘The Great Wave’ from recycled materials.

Plus exhibitions, entertainment and workshops where you can learn to dance, sing, stage fight, write comedy, or just chill out with some yoga, browse our market place of stalls or book a chair massage.  A lunch buffet will be provided by the Real Junk Food Project and the Network of International Women on a pay-as-you-feel basis.
