AFLO. the poet is a Brighton-based spoken word artist, activist and academic who embraces creative expression to disrupt the status quo and inspire social change. AFLO. uses poetry as a vehicle to talk about difficult subjects, often focusing on aspects of her own identity such as race, mental health and recovery from trauma. Through writing and sharing poetry, AFLO. has found peace, connection, community, and ultimately empowerment – and in her workshops she encourages others to embark upon their own creative journeys.
In this workshop AFLO. the poet will briefly talk about her journey through poetry and will share some spoken word pieces.
The group will then be invited to participate in a creative writing activity where individually they will produce poems (or the beginnings of poems).
Everyone welcome 🙂
