Shiatsu is hands-on holistic bodywork that is deeply relaxing and energising. It addresses all aspects of our selves, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, supporting the body’s natural ability to heal and balance itself. It uses comfortable pressure, gentle stretches and movement, creating space for your energy (your Qi or Ki) to flow freely and it helps to connect parts of your body that may have become ’stuck’, painful or less connected.
This form of Japanese bodywork is becoming more and more popular in the West. Its roots are in ancient Eastern medicine and philosophy and it shares principles with Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine including use of the Channels or ‘Meridians’ used in Acupuncture and Acupressure.
Claire and Jane are qualified practitioners of the Zen style of Shiatsu, and members of the Teaching Team at The Shiatsu College (Brighton Branch). Claire practices at The Brighton Shiatsu Centre, Jane at the Cornerstone Community Shiatsu Clinic, Hove and at her own practice near The Level.
