Artistic Director/Choreographer Charlotte Vincent and her performance company, Vincent Dance Theatre, have been moving people and making them think since 1994. ‘One of the most important feminist artists working in Britain today’ (The Observer), Vincent creates brave, humorous and ‘astonishingly original’ (New York Times) productions that interrogate gender politics and place the female experience centre stage.
As part of IWD, Vincent talks about why her work interrogates gender stereotypes, power, violence and pornography and discusses the need for women’s stories to be heard to counter the insidious sexism and creative bravado that seems to persists within our culture and beyond.
