Laura is a writer and broadcaster. A feature writer and music columnist for the Guardian for more than a decade, she is currently at work on her second novel and a non-fiction book about music and sadness. A regular contributor to Radio 4 and Radio 3, she has written and presented documentaries on everything from tomboys to Karen Dalton, Shakespeare to Greyhound buses. Her series Laura Barton’s Notes From a Musical Island returns to Radio 4 this summer.
